Service in the Arb!
The House took on the Arb (namely, the invasive spotted knapweeds) during this past weekend's Eco-Workday! We learned about invasive species in Michigan and their effects on our local ecosystem, and got to do something about it! Spotted knapweeds are harmful to our ecosystems because they are poisonous to nearby plants, creating dense patches that prevent other local photosynthesizing friends from taking root (literally—the roots on these knapweeds are crazy!).
We also happened to make a few six-legged friends—praying mantises!
